A secret $3.5 million loan from an Auchi company to key early-money Barack Obama fundraiser Antoin Rezko was exposed while Rezko was awaiting trial on fraud and money-laundering charges earlier this year. Three weeks later, on June 15, 2005, Rezko’s wife assisted the Obamas in the purchase of their South Chicago mansion by purchasing a next-door undeveloped lot being sold with the house. Rezko’s bail was revoked and police showed up banging on the doors of his Wilmette Chicago mansion to drag him off to jail early in the morning of January 28th. Why aren’t the American media investigating the role of British billionaire businessman Nadhmi Auchi in supplying loans to Barack Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko?

<FONT face "Georgia" size =1>Clinton, McCain and Obama seem at Odds With 90%+ of Americans. A study commissioned jointly by the American Council for Capital Formation and the National Association of Manufacturers estimated that the Lieberman-Warner proposal would increase electricity prices by between 13% and 14% by 2014. The Lieberman-Warner plan would increase petroleum prices by 5.9% by 2015, according to Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions. Opposition to higher gas prices was particularly pronounced among minorities, with 72% of blacks and 72% of Hispanics opposed to paying any more for gasoline to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This compares with 64% of whites opposing paying more.

Being a garden railroader brings a bit of a different perspective than being a basement model railroader. Basement model railroading has been basically a man thing, with the wife tolerating the hobby - often at best. Garden railroading is primarily a husband-wife endeavor. Garden railway gardening is entire subset of the hobby. Some garden railroaders go to great lengths to match the size of their plants with their railroads. I am not so particular - I do not have the green thumb my father had.

Obama's Anger

<FONT face "Georgia" size =1>Within a generation, with little or no knowledge of English, the Vietnamese refugees who flooded into the familiar tropical environment after the war had achieved dominance in the fishing industry there and their children were already achieving the top SAT scores in the state. However, to suggest that intact families and a philosophy of self-reliance could be the ticket to success would have undermined the entire angst establishment. We now know that Barack Obama really has no interest in the "audacity of hope." With his race speech, Obama became a peddler of angst, resentment and despair. Too bad he doesn't direct that angst at the liberal establishment that has sold black people a bill of goods since the 1960s. What Obama seems angry about is America itself.

I stayed home. This year, none of us have that luxury. While all sorts of gushing is going on in the media, and posturing is going on in politics, the biggest national sponsor of terrorism in the world – Iran – is moving step by step toward building a nuclear bomb. The point when it gets that bomb will be the point of no return. Iran 's nuclear bomb will be the terrorists' nuclear bomb – and they can make 9/11 look like child's play.

Five years later, only 1,884 graduated from high school. That's a 65 percent drop out/flunk out rate! That's pathetic, if not frightening. What was the cause? First of all, 30,000 illegal aliens, speaking 40 different languages, attended Denver schools. Our classrooms suffered thousands of kids functionally illiterate in English with parents functionally illiterate in English and Spanish. The classrooms featured so much incompatible diversity that it created horrific tension, stabbing's and death. We're being colonized with over nine million illegal alien Mexicans crashing our schools, medical systems, language, culture, parks, tax and welfare systems. One look at the headlines of major newspapers across the country echoes and mirrors the Rocky Mountain News. Where is the outrage?

<FONT face "Georgia" size =1>Rep. Campbell says that members of Congress cover for each other when it comes to glory grabs. Last year, the two-term lawmaker objected to an earmark for Mr. Rangel's academic center because "spending taxpayer funds in the creation of things named after ourselves while we're still here" was inappropriate. He was swatted down on a bipartisan 316-108 vote. Mr. Rangel, who has been in office since 1971, dismissed Mr. Campbell's objection: "I would have a problem if you did it, because I don't think that you've been around long enough . . . to inspire a building like this." John Fund discusses another Congressional trait that demonstrates how out of touch members are with John Q. Public and how they so readily forget why they were elected - add this to earmarks and you have a picture of people driven by pride and greed, not rational governance. Perhaps those so driven should reread, or read for the first time, the portion of Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution that reads: "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: ....". They are bestowing on themselves a mantle of nobility using the full power and resources of the federal government to do so.

But shockingly, the Legislature, on the afternoon of Aug. 6th in an incredible move, quickly re-passed the bill, this time with special "emergency act" language to thwart the referendum process. And of course, none of the Boston media mentioned it in their reports. We've never heard of that happening before. If a bill is an "emergency act" then it's labeled as such before it's passed -- not the day after it's passed. What a terrible, dishonest way to run our government!

Bradley Fowler claims they violated his constitutional rights and caused him "emotional distress" by publishing versions of the Bible that call homosexuality a sin. In my view, Fowler is suing the wrong party, but perhaps he realizes he is likely to have difficulty hauling the real author into court. As an artificial creation of the state, same-sex "marriage" is "an institution that needs to be coddled. The need for coddling means the state will use public education for this end, and align itself against churches that refuse to recognize same-sex "marriage." So, the state has to use its power against two of society's civil institutions: the family and the church. If we do not act, lawsuits against Bible publishers will no longer be a joke, but a despotic reality.
